چکیده

Abstract This article analyzes the tensile modulus of shape memory polymer nanocomposites (SMPNs) at ambient temperature. Several conventional models, such as rule mixtures, Halpin–Tsai and Kerner–Nielsen, cannot practically estimate due to absence some main parameters for nanocomposites. Additionally, in Kerner–Nielsen Sato–Furukawa models are useless ineffective, small concentration high nanofillers SMPNs. Therefore, simplified modified deliver simple calculation Various nanocomposite samples provided prove validity suggested models. The results demonstrate that predictions have a good match with experimental results. also simplicity accuracy SMPNs Generally, calculated disclose model is preferable approximation

Stresses in Shape Memory Polymer-matrix Nanocomposites for Biomedical Applications

We report on the residual stresses in amorphous shape memory polymers reinforced with SiC particles. After 50% compression of the composite material at 25 °C, the SiC particles exhibit a compressive stress, which is almost completely released during heated recovery at 120 °C. The residual stresses in SiC hexagonal (6H) phase were estimated through the average change of the unit-cell volume. Lat...

High Cycle-life Shape Memory Polymer at High Temperature

High cycle-life is important for shape memory materials exposed to numerous cycles, and here we report shape memory polyimide that maintained both high shape fixity (Rf) and shape recovery (Rr) during the more than 1000 bending cycles tested. Its critical stress is 2.78 MPa at 250 °C, and the shape recovery process can produce stored energy of 0.218 J g(-1) at the efficiency of 31.3%. Its high ...

Temperature-memory polymer actuators.

Reading out the temperature-memory of polymers, which is their ability to remember the temperature where they were deformed recently, is thus far unavoidably linked to erasing this memory effect. Here temperature-memory polymer actuators (TMPAs) based on cross-linked copolymer networks exhibiting a broad melting temperature range (ΔT(m)) are presented, which are capable of a long-term temperatu...
